Blue Hotness…

…The Life and Times of GloryFish (me!) have been quite exciting lately. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I wrecked my car, or more accurately someone else wrecked my car. Today I concluded the nasty process of dealing with insurance companies, towing services, and adjusters.
I took delivery of a shiny blue 2003 Taurus and I must say I’m quite satisfied. I do miss Ruby but the new girl on the lot has some nice curves.
As promised, here are some pics of Ruby Soho all mangled up:
It so sad to look at. *snif*
Enter the new car:

In other news, one of my Christmas presents, a 120GB hard drive has been put to good use. After almost 36 hours I have successfully ripped every audio CD that Sarah and I own to 192kbps WMA files. It totals almost 1200 songs and a paltry 3.5GB. The sweet part of the setup is that every single song is accessible from any room in the house (except the bathroom, but that’s coming). The best part is using the Xbox 360 with Windows Media Connect to stream the music to the tv and sound system in the living room. Sarah and I like to listen while we play backgammon.
As a tip for people who may try to use Media Connect and are having problems, make sure that the Xbox 360 and the PC are on the same subnet on your network. In my case the PC was plugged into my Vonage router which was itself plugged into the Linksys router next to the 360. This allowed them both to connect to the Internet but prevented them from seeing each other on the network. Putting both devices on the same router (and hence the same subnet) solved my problems instantly.
