On a fresh install, Ubuntu 6.06 was only displaying at 1024×768 resolution on my widescreen monitor. This resulted in a stretched appearance. There was no other option in the Screen Resolution panel.

…I discovered moments ago that clicking on a link with the middle mouse button (the scroll wheel these days) it will open in a new tab. Considering how many times a day I right-click and choose “Open Link in New Tab” (hundreds, maybe thousands) this is a huge deal.
