This post week ending…

I had a great weekend. God pulled me through the whole week and allowed me to go into Friday afternoon knowing that I had all of my schoolwork done. So, when I blew the left front tire of my car on Thursday night, instead of complaining about my misfortune, I rejoiced. Thank God, I know how to change a tire, thank God I have a spare tire and a jack in my trunk, and thank God I had enough money to replace the tire the next day. Everything worked out so there was no point in ever being upset about it. God knew what was going to happen.

Once that was over, I had an incredible game of Halo with Brian. On Friday I skipped my math class after work so that I could spend some extra time with Sarah. We went shopping for some stuff we needed (and some stuff we didn’t need). I had fun running around Bed, Bath, and Beyond looking at the chef’s knives and wishing that they had a nice set of Master Cheif bedspreads. I even found the waffle-iron from hell. It takes ordinary waffles and stamps Emeril’s infamous “BAM!” into them. What a way to start your morning. My best purchase of the day was at Electronic’s Boutique. I splurged a bit ang got a set of Halo Master Chief figures to match the colors that Brian and I use whn we play multiplayer. Cobolt and Black. We set them on top of the tv. They look way cool.

The radio show on Saturday was perfect. Good music, great talking, it was excellent. Afterwards, I went to Jordan’s apartment for some good old fashioned LAN action. We started off with some awesome Battlefield 1942, then moved on to some classic Ghost Recon, and topped it all of with…get ready…Doom III. Yes I had some quality sit-down time with a game I’ve been waiting for since my Junior year of high school. Let me just say, it did not disappoint. I played it on a machine that was capable of running it on “high” detail pretty comfortably, and “ultra” with some minor frame skipping. The effects, the sound, the animations, the mood, everything was top notch. I can’t wait to play it on Xbox.

I left Jordan’s house feeling good and totally ready to play, my guitar. The improv jazz band I’m in played a two hour set at the Koffee Kat, in downtown Plattsburgh. It was incredible. Our drummer, Mike, laid down some incredible grooves and I just felt it. Everything was made up on the spot but it all sounded like we’d been rehearsing for awhile. All together we had Brian (not Mahuta) on sax, Steve on sax/flute, Kyle on the keyboard, Mike on drums, and myself on guitar. It was the first time that all of us had played together as a group. Next Saturday we have a gig at Plattsburgh State. We’re playing for their “Rock the Vote” event with Resonator and Ross Mafia.

I try and have relaxing week-ends but I always end up doing a ton of stuff and feeling busier than I do during the week. It’s okay though. I like it like this.
