Verizon frustrates me…

…I’ve been looking around for a good free site to host some of the content for this blog, like my new title bar. It occured to me that there is most likely some webspace provided for my Verizon DSL account. I checked and found out that there is 10MB of free space for a site. To my dismay, I also discovered that the only way to use that space is to build a website with their own “SiteBuilder,” an online WYSIWYG crapfest. There was no FTP access to the site’s contents and I couldn’t even find a straight html editing view. After further serching I found that Verizon provides web storage but only for a fee and only in increments starting at 50MB. So, in essence, I have 10MB of completely useless webspace which is being paid for every month.
Currently, I am using sharemation.com’s web storage service. 5 or 10MB limit with up to 500MB/3 hours of bandwidth. That’ll be plenty for now.
Consider this my official annoyed venting at Verizon for their shoddy “targeted at the average user” contenty services. May they rot in unglory.
